Tears of Terror

A Syrian child of only 4 yrs old, thought the photographers camera was a gun so he raised his hands in Fear.  So I wrote;
 - Tears of Terror - 

Living in Fear, I'm TERRIFIED
I want to sleep through the night
But I'm too scared
My eyes open wide

It's been like this since the day I was born
This is my Reality
This is my norm'

One day I asked my mom, "Where is my sister?"
She said she's gone to heaven
And I really miss her

We never go to school, so we'll never learn
What it's like to get an education
All we feel is the burn

I hear the explosion of another bomb
I run outside and now
I can't find my mom

My dad has been gone since I was about two
A victim of Violence
Now I don't know what to do

The family around me
Everybody is dying
Now I'm standing here alone
And I can't stop crying

I understand the Homeless Man

Confusion in his eyes

Tries to survive the best he can

There is sorrow, in his sigh

Life dealt him a deck of cards

With no Kings, Queens or pairs

Day to day life is really hard

Especially when nobody cares

He tried to reach a peaceful state

Accidental over-medicate

Cannot shake a dark affliction

Desperation leads to drug addiction

Society it makes no sense

Within a foggy mind

A victim of poor circumstance

Let’s find a reason to be kind

I had a dream one species poisoned all the air

Filled it all with smoke

And they didn't even care

But as Real as it may seem

It Was Just a Dream

I had a dream one species poisoned all the land

Filled it with toxic chemicals

And I just couldn't understand

But as Real as it may seem

It Was Just a Dream

I had a dream one species poisoned all the water

Polluted it with chemicals

Nothin' left to drink

When the temperature was hotter

But as Real as it may seem

It Was Just a Dream

I had a dream that I awoke from this dream

And it was just a nightmare

Nothing was as it seemed

What kind of species would destroy their own water?

What kind of species would destroy their own air?

What kind of species would destroy their own land?

As if their own Extinction

Was their grand Master Plan

And then the sun came up

And I awoke with a Scream

I knew that it was True

Everything was as it seems
